Default VITA King of the Track Championship Series 2015

015 Valley Isle Timing Association NHRA King of the Track.

For Many years VITA has offered a annual King of the Track race which in many cases always ended with complaints or disappointed racers, Since there is only one KOT Wally given out annually, it makes it very difficult for our organization to offer a class that is fare and can accommodate everyone.

VITA will be trying something new for 2015. The King of Track race will now become The King of the Track Series. The KOT Wally trophy will now be given to the top point scorer after the 9 points races. The Series will use our current VITA championship points series as its platform. All VITA classes will be eligible to compete for the award and will not cost you anything to be part of it.

Points Races:
All schedule VITA points races will be used for scoring starting February 21, 2015

Scoring System:
Points will be awarded for Wins, Runner ups and Semi finals only.
Win = 6 pts
Runner Up = 4 pts
Semi Finals = 2 pts
6 car/bike min field to receive points

Tie Breaker: Ties will be broken via the number of Wins, Runner ups and so on.

Based off of our 2014 VITA points series .

Ry Simons scored 22 points with 3 wins and 1 runner up
Tom Hussey scored 22 points as well 1 win and 4 runner ups.
Using our tie breaker system, Ry Simon would have been crowned KOT due to having more wins over Tom.

If you have any question regarding the series please feel free to contact VITA Director Mark Caires @ 276-8655. Good Luck!!!

Theres a battle brewing for the VITA King of track Wally coming into our November 21st Finals. The current leader in the staging lanes is Pro Bike racer Rick Busta with 32 points. Hot on his heals is Sportsman racer Patrick Nugent with 28 points. Currently in third place, 4 way tie at 20 points Mat Simons (Pro Sportsman) Zaylen Andrade (Pro Bikes) Joey Amoral (Fast Gas) Aliyah Palad (Jr Dragster). With 6 points available, its going to be a nail biter at the finish. Good Luck!!!
