Aloha Everyone.....

A lot of you have been calling me about the summer event, yes it is on and no there will be no drag races or Ke Koa Hao event at the show.

The 17th Annual Auto Value Big Island Super Show will be held on July 20th and 21st, Thursday & Friday nights, 5:30pm to 10pm. The show will feature 33 classes and there will be no entry fee for entrants. There will be the Keau Miles Best of Show Award, as well as the Aaron Sampaga Best Display Award again. We have some other events and activities that will make the show fun and exciting for everyone. Here is more info:

17th Annual Auto Value Super Show - Hilo, Hawaii

Location: Edith Kanakaole Stadium
July 20-21, '06
5:30pm to 10pm
Adults: $5
Keikis: 6-12: $2

As for the drag races, there will be no drag races this year, as we continue to strive to accomplish the goal of bringing back to the Big Island the NHRA. As we mentioned previously we will not use the stock car oval again due to all the conflicts that have come up regarding its use for the "Ke Koa Hao - Iron Warrior" events. We are currently looking at other places to hold the off road races.

Aloha Ed,

What about some radio control truck racing or demonstration, maybe some r/c monster truck events, or a R/C KE KOA HAO EVENT that would be pretty kool would'nt take up too much space.

Aloha,

Mountain Man.....

Much thanks for your suggestion, I would like to have a RC event at the 17th Annual Auto Value Big Island Super Show. Do you know of any group or club doing this on the Big Island? If so, please have them contact me, I will give them a booth as well as space to run their RCs..

I am also working to bring in some other types of things that I think will make the show a lot of fun for everyone...

Any questions or suggestions, please contact me

Aloha Ed,

Yeah check out RC Heaven, next to R&R Machine, owners name is Joe Costa, he owns a pretty imperssive RC collection, and knows alot of RC enthusiasts. There's also a shop in Kona i think they run out of Island Performance Off Road. Nelson Parker had a article sometime ago in Motorhead on those guys from Kona.

Alohas,
