Rain and mist on and off prompted a decision to cancel the race at Kauai Raceway Park this last Saturday. In the interest of safety it seemed like a good decision at the time, but was I ever wrong!!!! Not more than 10 minutes later the skies started to clear and within an hour perfect weather for racing materialized. All the racers (I'm one too) were very disappointed, but even more so when the weather cleared. I sincerely apologize to all of the racers and spectators for making the wrong call. We made it through about 1 1/2 test 'n tune sessions when the mist started again and it appeared that it was going to get worse. Checking Waimea down the road it was pouring, and many of the faster cars plain just didn't want to take a chance of track conditions after the first downpour washed away some of the VHT. Sorry again-good intentions bad call. Racer registration fee will be credited to the next event.
