The VITA Board has announced that the 2005 NHRA Summit Racing Series guidelines will also be utilized for the 2006 season. The guidelines are detailed below.

2005 NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES
PACIFIC DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDELINES
(Also utilized for 2006 season)

PRO (1/4 mile 7.50-11.99) All entries must be minimum 11.99 NHRA Tech legal, regardless of dial-in.
Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See general regulation 9:1.
Data Recorders: Permitted. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:2A.
Delay Boxes: Permitted. One box/device only attached to transbrake and/or throttle timer only. Delay box may only display delay amount. All direct wiring must be clearly identifiable to the tech inspector.
Transbrake: Permitted.
Line lock: Four-wheel line lock permitted.
Automated Shifter: Permitted.
Throttle Control: Permitted per NHRA rulebook.
Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting line and/or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two-steps, rev-limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.
Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.
Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprints, light source and any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.
Tow vehicles permitted.

SPORTSMAN (1/4 mile 7.50 - 13.99)
Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See general regulations 9:1.
Data Recorders: Prohibited. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:2A.
Delay Boxes: Prohibited.
Transbrake: Permitted.
Line lock: Four-wheel line lock prohibited. Normal two-wheel line lock permitted.
Automated Shifter: Permitted, single function controller only.
Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver's foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A deadstop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited. No overdrive or throttle stop devices allowed.
Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting line and/or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two steps, rev-limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.

STREET (1/4 mile 12.00 - 25.00)
Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See general regulations 9:1.
Data Recorders: Prohibited. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:2A.
Delay Boxes: Prohibited.
Transbrake: Permitted.
Line lock: Four-wheel line lock prohibited. Two-wheel line lock permitted on non-drive wheels only.
Automated Shifter: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment.
Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver's foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A deadstop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.

Rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed in so as to function as a down-track rpm controller prohibited. Crank trigger system prohibited, unless OEM distributorless ignition.
Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, and light source or any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.
Tow vehicles: Prohibited.
Exhaust: Muffler(s) required.
Tires: DOT tires required.

PRO BIKE ET (1/4 mile 7.50 - 15.99)
Non-electronics category except those permitted in Electronics Definition. See general regulations 9:1.

Refer to the 2006 NHRA Rulebook for all applicable safety requirements in each ET Bracket (2005 NHRA Rulebook will be utilized until 2006 Rulebooks are available)
All categories will be run with full blinders on the Xmas tree.
