I have had some people asking if we could make a diesel only class for the Street Shootout in October. With all of the diesel trucks running around on the island I'm confident that this race might be a good starting point for a diesel class next year. This is just a thought with all of the mods available out there for diesels. This will give these guys someplace to test out what there trucks can do on the 1/4 mile.

Why does the rwd class, can use slick and the front wheel drives can't....
I think if they could use slicks then the fwd class should be able too... Besides the fwd class has more traction problems then rwd... I just don't see that.... If fwd can't use slick then it would be better if both classes don't use it... Thank you

The reason for allowing the 4 and 6 cylinder rwd cars to run slicks is, they have to race V8's that can run a wide variety of tire sizes. This will give small tire imports a better chance in competing in that class. As for the FWD, everybody is even now. They all basically run the same tire having the same traction problems. Keep in mind this is a street car event so we run street tires when ever possible. If you want to run slicks we offer a Sport compact and Pro sport compact every month.

There will be no class winners matching up this year. We had that at our Streetlight showdown event last year and it didn't work.

Just a reminder... Please have all your documentation with the car for the inspection. Safety checks, insurance card and registration must match the VIN on the vehicle. By law, Motor vehicles require a vehicle id number attached or stamped on the vehicle. Plate swaping will not be tolerated. Taking plates off your family car and bolting it to your race doesn't make it legal for the street. In fairness to the competition lets keep it legit. This rule applies to all car classes. T&T and bikes are not required. Thanks Mark.
